On January 9, 2007 Shaun completed a year of his minimum 12 year sentence for a crime he did not commit. I spoke to him on New Years Day and am still amazed at the strength of my brother. We can only believe that God is using Shaun as a vessel to change what we call our justice system. Because we KNOW that Shaun is innocent of the charges and incapable of committing such an act of pure disrepect, we hold on to the belief that his victory will come to fruition soon.

I think of Shaun daily and pray for his safety in the environment he was forced to come to learn. We are thankful that Shaun has remained the kindhearted, compassionate person he is. We must remember that he is in an environment he has never known of, among people he might have never met or interacted with. Thankfully the environment and his wrongful conviction hasn't changed the core of who he is. He has come to the understanding of prison life and has conformed to most of the changes in his life. But once again, he adjusts without hindering the true core of who his is.

He works in the facility and continues classes that the "system" said he needed to comply with. Classes for parenting, which was never a problem. He is a very loving and caring father. The other class is for offenders, which is ironic, for he is NOT an offender. So not only does he have to pay for someone else's crime, but also has to comply with classes that the "system" says he must complete. But this is once again where Shaun shows his true being. He takes the classes in compliance, with an open mind.

Shaun WILL be exonorated. The State of Hawaii will have to answer to the crime of false imprisonment.

Meanwhile we ask that the public continue to remember Shaun, his safety and his exonoration. Please keep him in your prayers. Thank you.

SHAUN IS MY NEPHEW AND I KNOW THAT HE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO COMMIT A CRIME LIKE THIS. I PRAY FOR HIS RELEASE AND PRAY HIS STRENGTH IN GOD. TOO MANY ARE FALSELY INCARCERATED AND THE ONES WHO COMMIT THE CRIMES ARE RUNNING FREE. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE AND MY NEPHEW IS PAYING THE PRICE. JESUS WAS INNOCENT TOO, AND HE PAID A HIGH PRICE. DOESN'T THAT MAKE YOU WANT TO GO "HMMMM". SHAUN I LOVE AND KNOW THAT I AM PRAYING FOR YOU. AUNTY, PAT
