The Sugihara's MADE A MISTAKE!

I cannot understand how the Sugihara's can go on with their lives?!! They have ruined Shaun's life just by MISTAKEN IDENTITY. This MISTAKE changed not only Shaun's life but the lives of every one of his family members. Its so weird that WE the family know the TRUTH, WE HAVE THE TRUTH and little do they(the Sugihara's) know that THEY HAVE RUINED AN INNOCENT MANS LIFE. There is no other way but for us to be Shaun's voice until someone hears the truth and he is set free. I am Shaun's Aunt Jana Trazo. I am married to Patrick Trazo, he was also a witness to that day that Shaun laid sleeping in the family room. The same time that Shaun was supposedly robbing the Sugihara's. I remember that morning, calling my husband who was there to help his sister Angeli move to her new apartment. I was talking to Rick on the phone. During our conversation he scolded his sister Toni for speaking loudly through the house at him, he was on the porch. He mentioned to me that Toni is talking so loud and Shaun is still sleeping. I was at work that day, and pregnant to our daughter, she is now 5 years old. As I said before, WE HAVE THE TRUTH! Shaun is a good man, he has always been a good person. Why did this happen to him? I wonder if the Sugihara's feel that they are 100% correct? You know how something doesn't sit right with you, and you second guess yourself...even if it's something so small? Well the Sugihara's must feel somethings not right, because their not right. We have the TRUTH AND THE TRUTH IS SHAUN IS INNOCENT, HE NEVER ROBBED THEM! HE WOULD NEVER HURT ANYONE LIKE THAT.

I guess this is a case of being too proud to admit making such an error. They think it is family honor. Having to save face. Well, this is America.
I call it cruel and inhuman.
It takes a much bigger and better person to admit to such a horrible error.
This case has haunted me from the beginning and I think of the family often.
In August the very same thing happened to our family.
Our son was set up for a crime he knew nothing about.
We have so much evidence, but once they get a body in jail, they fail to look further.

Your family is still in my prayers.

Thank you for your kind words.
Given what we are going through right now, I think of Shaun often. I know his sister and my heart goes out to all of you.
The sad part of our story is, our son is on the mainland in a state that does not honor our rights or the Constitution. They do not have prelimary hearings and only have Grand Juries, where, there the prosecutor can and will lie to get an indictment.
The defendant nor his attorney cannot appear. How is that justice, when only one side is given.
We have had authorities admit they cannot find one thing against our son and that they don't think he did it.
There is no DNA, witnesses, fingerprints, nothing, nada, zilch. He simply was not there. Period.
He is in there because of something they think he knows. Which is nothing. But as long as there is a body in jail, insurance doesn't have to pay out.
So sad for America.
So take care and pray for the Sugihara's to do the right thing.

You might want to check out Voice of Justice.com also.
They are being sought to get cases reopened around the country.

Aloha Suzan,

Just like Shaun there is no evidence against him but the photo id. made my Mrs Sugihara and she didn't even have her glasses or contacts on.
I know where the frustration goes on and it doesn't end till he is out.
Here we have drunk drivers killing people on the road and only getting 1 yr in jail and 5 yrs probation go figure that one
Shaun is in Arizona and he knows that there are alot of people that don't belong in jail and yet he keeps the faith up. He sees alot and have learned alot from this whole expierence 2010 will be 10 years with this whole night mare so I know how you feel. But we keep praying and hope things will come out soon. thank you again. Also I will check into that voice of justices.

Thank you so much. I hope for a quick end of this for Shaun. The unfairness of it all is overwhelming to families of innocent victims. I call them victims because that is what they are.
In our son's case, there is nothing, no witness, DNA, weapon, and his bond was 2 million and we were threathened by the police dept, that they could keep him from bailing out.

Please go to your message board and read from Justice Avenger. There was a wonderful piece on 60 minutes Sunday on eye witnesses being wrong. Get the whole transcript or the tape. It explains in detain how it can happen and how often it does.

I can tell you one thing, the paper at one time said the eyewitness's eye site was the same as mine and I would never attempt to point someone out for such a serious reason.

Good luck to you all.

Sorry to hear about that bond, as I know it can kill you as this is something that is so unexpected.

I did read and even went on to the site of 60 mins and even told Shaun about. He did say that some of the inmates mentioned to him about it. I'm forwarding this to my attorney's as theses are one of the many thru the years that we have seen.
I'm hoping that Project Innocence saw it and are trying to figure if we can even do somethng with it. They have come a long way so I hope they find something soon.
I really appreciate your kind words and prayers and I do feel your frustration. But as Shaun says we have to keep the faith.

thank you again.

I am so happy things are moving forward for you.
On another note, I read on the American Bar Assocation website that in their own database of 500 cases, 60% of eye witnesses were wrong. That is a huge amount. It was a great article.
It was under the criminal justice section, Spring 2003, Vol. 18. #1 by C. Ronald Huff.
Best to you guys.

You can try http://www.abanet.org/crimjust/spring2003/conviction.html

also google c. ronald huff
also try LLRX.Com
Also Ken Strutin wrongful conviction

I was having a hard opening it today also, so keep trying.
I just read where a AOL poll showed 65% of the people do not trust the justice system.

There is also a good magazine i think it is called wrongful conviction.

Good luck. Ours just seems be getting worse.

I forgot to add, C. Ronald Huff has written several books and you can find them used on Amazon.
I think the article might be in there also.
